Tengri
The Tengri Collection draws from the musical traditions of East Asia — the thundering taiko drums of Japanese ceremony, the singing erhu of Chinese opera, the refined koto of the imperial court, and the virtuosic pipa with its 2,000-year history. Four instruments that serve the fastest-growing plugin adoption markets in the world.
East Asian
Named for the supreme sky deity — instruments spanning Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Mongolian traditions.

Taiko
Thunder of Japan
A family of Japanese drums from the massive ō-daiko to the smaller shime-daiko, played with large wooden bachi with full-body power. Modern kumi-daiko ensemble drumming was popularized globally by Kodo and Ondekoza. A staple of blockbuster film scoring — Hans Zimmer has used taiko extensively since Inception and The Dark Knight.

Erhu
The Singing Bow
A two-stringed bowed instrument with no fingerboard — the player controls pitch entirely by finger pressure. The body uses a python skin membrane over a sound box. Called "the Chinese violin," it can express extraordinary emotional depth. Its tone is often described as crying or singing. Central to Chinese opera, folk, and modern orchestral music.

Koto
Strings of Zen
A 13-string zither about 180 cm long, played by plucking with finger picks (tsume). Movable bridges allow retuning between pieces. Japan's national instrument with a history spanning over 1,000 years, associated with refinement and the imperial court. Michio Miyagi's "Haru no Umi" is one of the most famous koto compositions.

Pipa
Pearl on Jade
A pear-shaped, four-stringed lute with over 2,000 years of history. One of the most technically demanding Chinese instruments. The famous battle piece "Ambush from Ten Sides" depicts an ancient battle entirely through pipa techniques — galloping horses, clashing swords, cries of the wounded — using only four strings.
